My Reverse SEO Strategy
Today, I’m going to reveal a secret that no one else seems to be talking about and it involves SEO. I consider this advanced SEO training even though it is 100% easier than traditional SEO practices.
Silencing The Noise
As a new Affiliate Marketer you will hear tons of misinformation on the Web. One of the biggest one’s involves SEO.
It does something like this: Your content must be SEO optimized by 4 to 5%.
It isn’t true.
It doesn’t even need to be optimized 2 to 3%.
That Was Yesteryear
There was a time when this was an important ranking factor on the search engines but Google and the rest have grown up.
They are in business to provide high quality information to real people.
That is why they want real content rather than content that has been tailored to appeal to the search engines.
When Google first got going all one needed to do with their new affiliate marketing business is to write the keyword that they want to rank for over and over until they were ready to puke.
It worked then.
It doesn’t work today.
Neither does writing traditional keyword density content.
What Is the Secret?
That’s just it.
There isn’t one.
Well, maybe there is.
The secret is to be you.
The next step is to write to your audience as you. Showing that you are not only an expert in the niche but you care about how your information is affecting them.
Unless your niche is teaching people language skills or something similar, you don’t even need to be grammatically correct. Just be real.
Yes, there are those grammar Nazi’s out there that will hang you at dawn. However, there are far more people on the Web that just want you to deliver high quality value.
Missing Ingredients in the SEO Mix
As you write your content keep in mind a few rules about the Web.
People want to be able to scan what you wrote so write short paragraphs that move quickly along. I’ve attempted to do that very thing in this article and believe it to be an excellent example.
You can also use images to drive the readers eye from point to point. I use to just use one image in the upper left but have come to realize the important of multimedia throughout the content.
I love to have fun with my mutli-media while still staying on topic. Therefore, people will find pictures of animals, recipes and exotic locations showing up within the content. If I can quickly find a video that fits in some way, so much the better.
When appropriate I will also have bullets and numbers.
Headings and subheadings are another critical factor.
In other words, write with style. The style you create can be your own but you absolutely must write with style.
What About SEO?
Am I suggesting then to ditch SEO altogether?
It’s critical too, but in its right place.
First, I write the content that I want to share with my audience. At present, I’m doing this daily. It’s a lot of work but it absolutely has its payoffs for doing so.
Once the article is written with varied amounts of content of 500 to 1500 words from blog post to blog post, I will then use Jaaxy which is a tool put out by the founders of Wealthy Affiliate. Both are amazing.
After I identify a keyword that is above 90% possibility in ranking and preferably has at least 50 people a month searching it I then work it into the article.
That’s why I call this reverse SEO.
The content is written with real value for the audience and then SEO is implemented in 3 ways.
- Once in the title.
- Once in the body.
- Once in an image.
Google Is Smart
Google has grown up and is much smarter than what it was in the early days.
If you do this strategy and repeat the process while remaining within your niche you are going to succeed.
It’s not going to be an over-night success, especially if you are launching a new project. However, once you start to see the power of sticking to a solid plan that does not attempt to game the search engines in any way there will be no looking back.
I typically recommend giving a new project 90 days before you see the real value emerging.
What Do You Do?
No matter if you are an experienced blogger like myself or just getting started with your affiliate marketing business we all create our own individual strategies over time.
Now it’s your turn to share.
Are the thoughts I have left above on track or not? Did I miss something of import (i.e. LSI) which you would like to bring up?
Please do so in the comments below and watch for my response. It is my goal to get back to all responses within 48 business hours and most always sooner.
