Of Freezer’s, Brides and Your Affiliate Marketers Dream

Of Freezer’s, Brides and Your Affiliate Marketers Dream

She warned me.

I did not listen.

I like to do things my way.  That should be more than obvious when one realizes that I live in a TeePee, which my frequent flier readers do, and I say thanks.

Anyway, where were we.

Oh yeah, his brides succulent body lay so peaceful and still within soft glow of the orange hue.  Sleep was a welcome intruder after the bustling business of the yesterday.  As darkness enveloped the two lovers within its cocoon of happiness…

Gee, this is getting good, can’t wait to read what’s next and what it has do with your Affiliate Marketers dream.

Wait!

I’m the writer!

Sorry about that, let’s get back to the story.

their he was, awakened now twice, by the extreme shiveriness (hey, I’m the writer, it’s my privilege to make up words) of 14 degrees Fahrenheit.

Whoops, Are Little Love Story Experienced Trouble

And so, will your affiliate marketing success formula if you choose to push away friendly help and advice.

We need each other.

It is how humanity works.

I recently started a conversation about ping technology with the Wealthy Affiliate community of friends that I have grown to love.  I believe that because of my involvement with this community my own dreams of becoming an Affiliate Marketer are being realized.

Apparently, Alexa agrees by providing me with a ranking of 2,312,741 in less than 60 days.

Back to the ping story, I had asked:

“To ping or not to ping?”

To which KiwiGeorge responded…

“And a ping is?”

And Numerous answered by saying…

Good question. in general, it’s short data blast for information. Have you ever seen a navy movie where they send out a sonar ping to find out where another ship is? Same basic idea on a network. One computer will send a quick blast of information to notify or receive information from another computer.

In this case, a ping is your site sending a notification about your site to another site that then aggregates that information to a bunch of other sites. By default, WordPress will send out a ping to all the sites in your ping list every time you make a change like adding or editing a page or post who then notify other sites. The ping optimizer, reduces this to a single notification when the page or post is created.

And KiwiGeorge concluded with…

Thank you so much, yes of course I have watched many movies like that “search for Red October” I think was one. Did not understand the connection, now I have got it.  Thank you!

See what I mean by the pure helpfulness of the Wealthy Affiliate community of members that are pursuing their own affiliate marketing dreams?

Numerous did not have to take time to give such an awesome answer.

KiwiGeorge did not need to believe a word he said.

And Guy Siverson (that’s me) did not need to zip up his sleeping back to keep the warmth within on such a frigidly cold night even though his bride had clearly advised him to do so.

But the story doesn’t end here, keep reading.  It gets better.

It Only Takes a Moment to Adjust Your Compass

Remember that darkness that had enveloped the happy couple in its cocoon…

Yeah yeah, get real.

There I was in the dim light that made it difficult to see just trying to figure out how to zip up my sleeping back at midnight while unwelcomed snores from sleeping beauty filled the room.  As mentioned, I got here because I did not listen.

I did not listen to my peers (ie bride).

I did not listen to reason.

And I didn’t even listen to that still small voice inside, who I have come to know as the Holy Spirit.

I’m good at not listening.  Some would say I’ve made an art out of the practice which is why I feel into the icier glace fed waterfall in 2001 and went for the unexpected ride of my life and almost death.  Things would have gone so much better had I listened to the sign which read “stay on trial”.

But that’s a story for another time.

Once the bag was fully zipped I crawled back in and instantly enjoyed the radiating warmth which it now provided.  It was a simple change but one with powerful results.

My Bag Is Your Business

Perhaps you find your affiliate marketing business not securing the rankings from Google that you desire and deserve.  This could be due to several factors, like not creating enough on-page content or not promoting the crafted articles released in a power packed fashion.

Whatever the case, taking an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses you have achieved will identify the success and growth opportunities of both attributes within your marketing process.

Making corresponding adjustments can mean all the difference between winning and losing for you in the world of affiliate marketing.

Many of those adjustments are as simple as zipping up a sleeping bag.

Different context perhaps, but the concept remains the same.

Here’s what I personally do daily as it relates to my own marketing efforts.  I share this in hopes that it will shed light on ideas that will propel you and your dreams to the top.

  1. After checking properties like eMail, Wealthy Affiliate and Skype for new interactions I write an article that is between 1000 and 1500 words in length.  Yes, daily, affiliate marketing is a business.  Treat it like one or fail.  It is your choice.
  2. Next I visit 5 niche related blogs of interest using my informative database and provide high quality comments on each. I have a method to my madness in this process which you can read all about here.

3.  After that, I leave 5 ads on ad networks like Craig’s List which offer “do follow” links and have good domain authority per Google.  This is one of many ways that I answer my own question on how to get high quality backlinks from external sites.

Yes, there are more things that I do, but I believe that setting a pattern like that above and repeating the process daily will lead you to the success you seek as an Affiliate Marketer.  Don’t dream, do!

Concluding Thoughts About My Bride and Your Business

People often ask how long I’ve been married when they hear me refer to my wife as my bride.

To which I answer, going on 10 happy years.

To which they often respond non-verbally with an amazed look.

I guess their surprised that I still call her my bride.  In fact, once I was working with a phone rep from AVista (our water company) and referred to my bride.  By the time the conversation ended the lady on the other end of the phone was in tears, of what could best be defined as joy, because of that one precious word.

See, I lost one of my brides to cancer on April 3rd 2003.  I’ve come to learn exactly how precious life is, the hard way.

Each day I awake I consider it a God given privilege for the breath that sustains my life.  It’s the first day and the only day that matters.  I choose to face each day like the new beginning that it is.

I do this with life.

I do this with relationships.

And I do this with my affiliate marketing business.

What’s more, I recommend that you do the same.

Have you had struggles succeeding in making money online?  Does it remain your passion, your desire and your dream?

Don’t give up or give in.

That’s the stuff that comes with failure.

Instead, get going.

Today will be a new day.  Today, you can win.  Today you can reset your ships course and follow the sonar of success into fulfilling your affiliate marketing dreams.

All it takes is your commitment to see the process through.

No, it won’t be easy.

There will be times when you would much rather go to the beach or go to dinner.

Heck, there will be times when simply watching the paint dry on your wall will be much more enticing than sitting down at your computer to do more work.

But in the end, at least in my end, I want to see my Affiliate Marketing dreams come true.

How about you?

Before leaving could you do me a favor?  Share in the comments below your dreams, your visions and your reason why you are pursing the affiliate marketing success that you are.  Feel free to talk about the bumps as well as your victories.  I truly am interested in hearing your story.

As interested as I am in staying warm at 14 degrees.

I’m listening

Nothing would please me more than to see other Affiliate Marketer’s grab the gauntlet of success for themselves and move forward at web speed with it. That is my mission, my goal and my focus within everything that I’m doing. Right now I’m putting in very long days to make it happen but know what the probabilities and possibilities hold. I say, go for the gold and encourage other people dreaming of affiliate marketing success to do the same. Let’s grow!

Affiliate Marketing should focus more on helping your readers and selling comes later.

How right you are. If we are more focused on selling than helping our audience will not and cannot grow.

“Guy's professionalism towards SEO is unmatched. Providing realistic expectations in a proper time frame and budget. Guy is a wealth of knowledge and is certainly a top expert within not only local SEO but everything SEO. I look forward to working with Guy for many years to come.”
    Sam

“My website had no hits, now its booming, We started getting lots of calls, Excellent Job, Thank You !!!"
    Alex

“Guy is one of the most passionate SEO professionals out there. SEO isn't just his job, it's his vocation. He also focuses on the most current form of SEO in my opinion and that is Local SEO. I threw a very tough project at Guy with a very short timeline to rank. Given the circumstances, Guy did everything possible to rank the project in the shortest time possible. His word is worth its weight in gold. In the SEO industry which can be very shady, this is incredibly important. Especially when not dealing face to face with an individual. Guy is extremely available and very personable. His ability to adapt his vast knowledge of Local SEO to develop a strategy particular to my project puts him over the top.”
    Nathan

“I went searching for an SEO person. I did not want to be thrown in a template or into a company that mass-produces their SEO work. I wanted an independent professional that would work with me personally. I got that in Guy. He followed up his initial email with a personal professional phone call. He laid out a smart strategic game plan and quickly gave my website a strong foundation coordinating my google accounts, video, keywords, and blog. My website foundation is rock solid. I would highly recommend Guy as a powerful resource for your SEO work.”
    Ed

“When I started working with Guy, I had a Google Maps listing that was languishing. I really wanted to get my listing to show up on page 1 in Google Maps. That’s when I had the good fortune of coming across Guy — not only is he responsive, communicative, and involved, but he knows what he’s doing. Within a month or so, Guy had conjured up his online magic tricks and got us into position 3 on Google Maps, landing us squarely on page 1. I’m just thrilled with the results that Guy was able to achieve — and let’s be honest, we hire folks like Guy to get us results. And Guy delivers. Can’t recommend him enough.”
