Affiliate Marketing Success Formula in My TeePee

Affiliate Marketing Success Formula in My TeePee

It snowed.

I’m excited.  It’s like my first snow ever.

Well, not exactly.

But it is the first time I’ve ever lived in a TeePee during a snowstorm.

Oddly enough, this has taught me great things to share about my affiliate marketing success formula.

Things like…

Being Prepared to Weather the Storm

In a TeePee that means properly positioned blankets with propane at the ready.

When following through with affiliate marketing training, it means understanding that things may start slow, especially if you are targeting an organically grown audience.

But with persistence and time you will gain the authority you are looking for.

I’ve been delivering posts steadily for over 30 days now and just happened to peak at my Alexa score.  I don’t consider Alexa to be the end all of all in understanding stats but I’m certainly not opposed to graphics like this.

You must also…

Know Your Limits in Success

It is said to drop to as much as twenty below where we are.  If our provisions don’t keep us warm enough we need to understand when limits have been reached and what to do about them.

In a similar fashion, each of us only have 24 hours in every day.  There is absolutely no way to get around that.

Most everyone has other responsibilities included such as work, family and even friends.

While you want to succeed in the world of affiliate marketing it is important to remember that you want people to be there with you once you arrive.

Therefore, create a plan that will accommodate everything and everyone possible.

If there is an area that I’m weak at this would be that.

People see me almost always with my nose in the computer.  Many don’t even understand exactly why.  There are others, like my wife, who has resolved herself to walking with me through the next 60 days.

We both believe, based on other people’s testimonials and our own experience included that by 90 days things should be hoping very nicely if the momentum I have going is able to remain steady.

But know your limits and when it is time to put down your computer.

Or pick it up…

Plan A Course for Success

We have food, heating and lightening at the ready.  We also know what towns are close by that offer the exact types of resources that we require.

We’ve even got the Internet fixed.

How would I be able to talk to those wanting to begin an affiliate marketing business without it?

In a similar way, when building your success online it is important to create a strategy that will become a success for you.

This strategy should include…

On Site Attributes of Success

How often are you going to post?

What keywords are you going to target?

The quicker and more organized approach that you take to building out your affiliate marketing internal strategies the more likely that you will succeed quicker.

I have a sheet created for this which I go over every day and checkoff each item as it is completed.

This helps me stay focused and on track with where I’m heading thereby limiting unwanted and/or unnecessary distractions that can so easily arise.

When posting consider the power of writing more than just content.

Images like Meme’s, Infographics and more are all important.

I even use other people’s videos which might not even be fully targeted on the niche I’m after.  There are reasons I do this which I will share some other time.

Off Page Attributes to Success

This is commonly known as backlinks.

A backlink is when a site outside of your realm of authority takes the time to point back to you from their property.  Knowing how to get high quality backlinks for your blog or website is a critical ingredient to your success.

There are many ways to encourage this to happen but I’d like to share one with you that is working great for me.

First, I look for sites that are in my niche and I start leaving high-quality comments on their blog.

I keep track of this activity.

Once they approve a comment I now know that I am working with a Webmaster who is taking care of their blog.

Next, I will simply repeat the process 2 or 3 times while keeping track of every move I make.  I find that a spreadsheet using software like Excel is great for this.

By now they are used to me showing up on a regular basis and my name is familiar.

It is at this point that I will send them an eMail asking if I may be a guest blogger for them.  Yes, Guest blogging is a very powerful strategy.

That’s why many people send in their work directly just hoping that it will be posted.

To me, it is more important to build the relationship first and then move forward with the fruit of what I’m after.  I have found that doing things in this way gives my guest blog a greater chance of being accepted.

Why do I want to put in all the work only to find out that I haven’t been accepted?

I don’t.

And you shouldn’t.

You have more important things to do with your affiliate marketing efforts, especially as a new entity that you are building.

Taking Care of Everything

Back in my TeePee, I do regular checks to make sure there are no leaks or unexpected damages that have arisen from the weather.

I found a spot of mold because of a recent check.  Left in place that could have caused serious health concerns, but because I took care of things quickly such was not the case.

With a blog your health check would include making sure your plugins and themes stay updated as well as corresponding with people when comments are left.

I also like to share links into my social media community after I have could verify that either I have a comment that has been accepted or they have posted an article that I requested them to consider as a guest blogger.

Everything matters, which again is an awesome reason for having some type of workflow that you can refer to daily.

It’s Your Turn to Succeed

While I have shared plenty above there is plenty left to go.  How else would you recommend staying alive in your TeePee?

Wait!

Let me rephrase that.

    Hey Guy,

Our family lived in a tipi (the origin of ours was spelled tipi rather than teepee). It got too cold when winter hit so we moved into a Mongolian yurt which is more expensive (about 3 times as much) but is a lot warmer. It was an incredible experience.

It’s funny, I literally thought I was the only one thinking about how to integrate my unique life lessons into my business. It is lovely to know I am not alone in this!

Thanks again for writing such a beautifully written, inspiring and informational post!

Hello Joy – Many post I see online are very informative but dry, especially within the niche of helping people to begin their lives within the world of affiliate marketing. I personally see being able to bring my personal life into my niche as my unique selling point compared to whatever else I see out on the Web. I’ve only just scratched the surface of possibilities in this regard and haven’t even begun to bring forward items like an unexpected 4 year mission or my 1600 mile bicycle ride. They will come, but in due time.

    Hi there Guy!
I simply love your writing. It is very humoristic, but at the same time extremely accurate 🙂 I agree with everything you said and I think you have found your own way to success which is great

There are many things others can copy, but I would like to point out that everyone has their own likes and dislikes. One formula to success won’t work for everyone. You can learn from others, but in the end you need to follow your own path to the top!

Who said that instructional information needs to be dry, dull and boring? In fact, I would suggest that people learn best when they are in a good receptive mood. That is why I have found my voice between to islands and people like yourself let me know that it is an awesome place to be which I greatly appreciate.

Speaking of formulas for success, I would quite agree with you. However, building ones pattern from learning based on other people’s wisdom certainly does have its advantages. Yet, creating and following one’s own path is indeed words of wisdom. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. I have to say that this has certainly given me some insight on how to proceed forward with my affiliate marketing business!

The idea of guest blogging is amazing- backlinks from large sites are truly valuable as you say, and you’ve provided a workable way to get them.

Thanks for the value provided, appreicate it!

My pleasure and privelage, but based on my own learning I’ve taken everything shared here even further in the article that I wrote today: What is Guest Blogging for SEO Purposes.

Take a read of that for even more value and let me know what you think. Enjoy.

    Alex

“Guy is one of the most passionate SEO professionals out there. SEO isn't just his job, it's his vocation. He also focuses on the most current form of SEO in my opinion and that is Local SEO. I threw a very tough project at Guy with a very short timeline to rank. Given the circumstances, Guy did everything possible to rank the project in the shortest time possible. His word is worth its weight in gold. In the SEO industry which can be very shady, this is incredibly important. Especially when not dealing face to face with an individual. Guy is extremely available and very personable. His ability to adapt his vast knowledge of Local SEO to develop a strategy particular to my project puts him over the top.”
    Nathan

“I went searching for an SEO person. I did not want to be thrown in a template or into a company that mass-produces their SEO work. I wanted an independent professional that would work with me personally. I got that in Guy. He followed up his initial email with a personal professional phone call. He laid out a smart strategic game plan and quickly gave my website a strong foundation coordinating my google accounts, video, keywords, and blog. My website foundation is rock solid. I would highly recommend Guy as a powerful resource for your SEO work.”
    Ed

“When I started working with Guy, I had a Google Maps listing that was languishing. I really wanted to get my listing to show up on page 1 in Google Maps. That’s when I had the good fortune of coming across Guy — not only is he responsive, communicative, and involved, but he knows what he’s doing. Within a month or so, Guy had conjured up his online magic tricks and got us into position 3 on Google Maps, landing us squarely on page 1. I’m just thrilled with the results that Guy was able to achieve — and let’s be honest, we hire folks like Guy to get us results. And Guy delivers. Can’t recommend him enough.”
