Bing Local Listing Tips

Bing Local Listing Tips

Every online corporate is trying to claim its space in the Google local listing. However, this can be a rat race that has no end. The company owners are so lost that they do not consider the simple fact that there are other search engines on the Internet as well. They might not be as big as Google but they do get their fair share of traffic.

We are, of course, talking about Bing. This is a relatively new search engine, but it is not naïve. The Bing local listing is just as good as the Google local listing. In fact, it is also easier.

However, there are some basic optimization tips that you must keep in your mind while you are claiming your space. Before we jump into the basics, here is something that you need to know.  Bing local listing places can only be claimed if you are a part of the Bing Places Portal. Now, the name might make it sound intimidating, but it actually is not.  Creating your business profile over here is not time consuming or hard, if you follow the tips given below.

Optimizing Your Bing Local Listing

Claim Your Space

First of all, you will have to claim your space. The biggest issue with Bing local listing is that the organization has no way of making sure whether a business is opened or closed. You will have to approach Bing and prove that you are still in the business and you bring proof with you i.e. your license.

Give Accurate and To-The-Point Information

As this is going to be a web-business, you will have to give accurate and very precise information. You will have to give your basic information like:

  • your company name
  • phone number
  • address

… and of course your website URL.

All of this information is very important because these are the things which will be visible to your clients when they search for you on Bing. You must also add a picture of your workplace so that Bing and your clients know that you are not a fluke and you are a business.

Point Out Your Hours

In order to get better Bing local listing position, you must mention your open hours. Researchers and experts have reported that businesses are likely to get a better ranking position if they have specified their opened and closed timings. This is a huge opportunity for businesses to get better traffic and more clients on their website, especially if the clients are searching via mobile phones.

Be Specific About Categories

Make sure that you mention the right type of categories while you are signing up for Bing or Google local listing. Category is basically the type of business you run, for example, florist, plumbers, car service etc.

If you deal in more than one service or product, then you must mention them as well. However, you must mention the most important first. You can also add your specialties as subcategories, which are bound to boost your Bing local listing.

Lastly, it is very important that you optimize your website so that you get better results from your Bing local listing which as a result increases website traffic and potential opportunities for business.

“My website had no hits, now its booming, We started getting lots of calls, Excellent Job, Thank You !!!"
    Alex

“Guy is one of the most passionate SEO professionals out there. SEO isn't just his job, it's his vocation. He also focuses on the most current form of SEO in my opinion and that is Local SEO. I threw a very tough project at Guy with a very short timeline to rank. Given the circumstances, Guy did everything possible to rank the project in the shortest time possible. His word is worth its weight in gold. In the SEO industry which can be very shady, this is incredibly important. Especially when not dealing face to face with an individual. Guy is extremely available and very personable. His ability to adapt his vast knowledge of Local SEO to develop a strategy particular to my project puts him over the top.”
    Nathan

“I went searching for an SEO person. I did not want to be thrown in a template or into a company that mass-produces their SEO work. I wanted an independent professional that would work with me personally. I got that in Guy. He followed up his initial email with a personal professional phone call. He laid out a smart strategic game plan and quickly gave my website a strong foundation coordinating my google accounts, video, keywords, and blog. My website foundation is rock solid. I would highly recommend Guy as a powerful resource for your SEO work.”
    Ed

“When I started working with Guy, I had a Google Maps listing that was languishing. I really wanted to get my listing to show up on page 1 in Google Maps. That’s when I had the good fortune of coming across Guy — not only is he responsive, communicative, and involved, but he knows what he’s doing. Within a month or so, Guy had conjured up his online magic tricks and got us into position 3 on Google Maps, landing us squarely on page 1. I’m just thrilled with the results that Guy was able to achieve — and let’s be honest, we hire folks like Guy to get us results. And Guy delivers. Can’t recommend him enough.”
