We are now 30 days in with this affiliate marketing project.
Where did the time go?
I’d like to say that I have a ton of traffic with my affiliate marketing business at this point but I don’t.
However, it is growing.
But unfortunately, the blog is still missing a major component to success.
Which brings me to the question of, how do eMail marketing companies work for Affiliate Marketers?
eMail Marketing Power
Yes, we have social media tied into the equation just as we have the starting ground for SEO. However, without building a list of loyal followers it doesn’t matter what you are doing.
Your success will be limited at best.
Per traditional marketing knowledge it takes 3 to 7 times for someone being exposed to something new before they will engage with it.
It is great that you have new visitors coming and perhaps even returning. However, that is one maybe two visits and then they are gone, perhaps forever.
When you offer them the ability to join your newsletter you can stay in touch with them long-term. This is what needs to happen in-order for you to build a strong following for your affiliate marketing products.
How Do You Set This Up?
Personally, I use Aweber. I’ve always found it the best of the best eMail providers.
Just as there are other social networks that lead one to need to understand exactly how to use Twitter for social media marketing, not to forget the rest of the networks available.
There are also other eMail marketing platforms.
I like Aweber.
Here is my affiliate link for Aweber. If you decide to go that direction, I’d be pleased as punch if you would help me grow my own business in the process.
Their support is awesome and they don’t talk down to me.
However, you want to be sure to use some type of platform like Aweber. Mail Chimp is a free one but to my knowledge no support comes with their offerings whereas with Aweber I have spoken with their support 4 times today and each time they are extremely helpful and friendly.
Whichever platform you use, you will need a form and a way to install the code onto your site.
My eMail Campaign Strategy
One of the reasons I do like Aweber is because I can send out a weekly roundup eMail.
I imagine this type of technology is available on other similar platforms, I just don’t know about it.
The advantage to taking this route is I can remain focused on creating content and let automation do its thing. With Aweber they will be tracking my writings for the week. Every Friday I send out a new eMail without any involvement from me because it is all code driven.
That eMail is a review of all the articles I have written for the week. Given that all my articles relate to those who are beginning their life as Affiliate Marketers, the eMail is extremely valuable to the viewer while at the same time leaving me free to concentrate on other matters within the operations of my business.
As My List Grows
If I decide that I want to send an eMail in-between Friday’s since once a week is a bit slim, I can.
If there is something special that arises all I need to do is create a one-time broadcast and it is on its way.
HOT TIP: Using royalty free Google images can help increase your eMail open rates.
However, by letting my audience know that they will receive a new eMail at 9AM EST weekly, they will be in a position of anticipating its arrival and as such be more willing to welcome its arrival in their inbox.
It doesn’t take that big of an active list of subscribers to start returning some amazing results.
How to Grow Your List
To that end, if you give something away for free people pay attention.
If those people were the ones interested in whatever the freebie is.
Want to do consulting? Give away some free time.
Have an eBook to sell? Give away the first chapter.
Give away a cheat sheet of major resources related to the niche.
Creating the freebie may take some effort, but considering the value it will bring to you for months if not years into the future it is more than worth taking the time to do so.
Closing Thoughts About eMail Marketing
Some say that eMail marketing isn’t what it used to be.
And, they would be right.
However, to ignore eMail marketing simply because the luster that it once had has slipped away would be a dangerously wrong decision. People do still receive eMail and they are actively engaged with it.
Just don’t look like an advertisement and you will be good to go.
