IWriter is going to need to wait for part 2 one more day.
Yesterday, I was supposed to share with you an article from IWriter that I received while speaking of its good and bad points. This way you will be able to understand why and how IWriter might be a good tool for you to use too.
However, I’m in the process of going through a course related to writing which I believe anyone building an affiliate marketing business would benefit from. I’m on day 4 today and Joy is talking about free writing and how it affects the overall success of an

Importance of Free Writing to Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate Marketers sometimes think they need to know everything about their niche before they can position themselves as an authority. Yesterday’s article on image accessibility is proof that this isn’t true.
I learned a lot from what I discovered in that article.
Instead, I recommend the free writing approach for affiliate marketing where you write from your gut and say it like you understand it. If you make a mistake, your audience will let you know.
But that is just the thing.
That mistake causes interaction with your audience which leads to engagement while Google watches and rewards everything accordingly.
What Exactly Is Free Writing
Many people like to take notes and make sure everything is in place before they start writing. This is more of a structured approach and I believe it to be very limiting.
I don’t take that approach which is why I’m able to put out a new article daily that is between 500 and 2000 words with the higher number being preferred. Typically, the article itself takes me about 1 hour to write and then there is all the work of getting it ready to go live. In many ways, that takes longer than does writing the actual content.
Because I have done this for so long with my own affiliate marketing business it almost comes naturally and flows very smoothly for the reader. Or at least I like to think it does.
When it is time for a new sub heading my brain simply tells me so.
Where Traditional Free Writing Help Fails
In a traditional model of free writing you pay no attention to sentence structure. While this is a good practice if you haven’t done this sort of thing previously, it does have its weaknesses.
Would you publish a block of rambling text that makes no real sense but stays to the topic on your site?
I don’t think so.
With my free writing process, I include important points within the process which are critical for success. The result is that I am more than ready for posting the result on my blog.
I guess you could say that in that way I break the free writing concept.
However, free writing is about writing from the gut to get your juices going and that is exactly what I do in creating content every day.
Empowering Free Writing Results
If I believe that the way I am feeling, or what I am doing or how I am living is of import to my audience then I will talk about that too.
This makes me seem more real and tangible than if I were just staying directly to the topic itself.
That is why people that follow me for any length of time know that I live in a TeePee and love it. Not so in love with the sudden mold issue that we are dealing with but no matter where you live you are going to have issues arise that need to be dealt with so this is nothing new.
Adding Elements to Free Writing
If your new to the concept of free writing, then set some time aside to just write about your affiliate marketing niche. However, if you want to take a more advanced view of this concept then these are elements to include when writing for the Web.
- Short paragraphs that move.
- Bullets and numbering where appropriate.
- Heading and sub-heading as necessary
You could even take this a step further by setting yourself up with interlinking ideas based on articles that you have previously written.
For example, at the start of this article I wrote about my learning within the area of image accessibility which I believe is a critical read for any beginning or advanced Affiliate Marketer. If I choose, and I do choose, there will be a link to the other page from that reference above so that people reading this article about affiliate marketing can easily navigate to that one.
Concluding Thoughts About Free Writing
Some may suggest that I’m not doing free writing at all and in a way, I would even agree with them.
I would like to suggest that what I’m doing is a method called ‘structured free writing.”
- I’m still writing from the gut.
- I’m still talking about what I know.
- I’m still bringing value.
But I’m doing it in a way that can be of service to any beginning Affiliate Marketer as well as those who are more advanced in their trade.
On that note, I depart leaving you with a couple of missions.
First, if you’ve never tried free writing before do so now. Just take a minute or even two. You will discover that you know far more about the topic than you thought you did.
Second, have you done free writing or have questions thereof? Leave your comments and views below. Even if you disagree with the process I’ve shared above it is an opportunity for us all to be able to grow.
I’m very interested in your views and have often heard that if 1 person is interested then there are likely others too that remain more silent in their expressions thereof. Thanks for reading, be sure to leave your comments below.
